URT continues to have a strong and vital national theater presence through its touring repertoire. Four different shows are spreading the company's mission to schools, theaters and performing arts centers. Our newest show, How Do You Spell Hope?, has recently completed a week long tour in Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Ohio delighting audiences along the way. Two of URT's symphony and shadow puppet spectaculars, Stravinsky's The Firebird and Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks are touring together. The cast has just come back from a highly successful run at The Public Playhouse in Maryland and will be performing in Flushing, NY later this month. Are You Ready My Sister? begins this season's tour in January with local actress Ramona Alexander joining the cast as Harriett Tubman. Ms. Alexander has been seen locally in the Coyote Theatre's production of Uncle Tom's Cabin and Breath, Boom at the Huntington Theatre. The cast will be touring to six states this season including a two-week tour in Washington state. Are You Ready My Sister? tells the story of Harriet Tubman, the great "conductor" on the Underground Railroad and the Quaker women who helped her bring 300 slaves to freedom. Sister has been touring nationally for over fifteen years. For more information about any of our touring shows, visit our web page at: www.undergroundrailwaytheater.org. |
