The education program is gearing up for a very busy winter and an even busier early spring. We are continuing our programs in Cambridge public schools, in after-school sites in Cambridge and you'll spot us in the MFA during the entire February vacation week. We are also happy to announce that we are building new relationships with Springstep in Medford and the Currier Museum in New Hampshire. Moving into our second year as theater-in-residence at the Cambridgeport School, we are planning a unique program that incorporates the 7th and 8th graders as playwrights and the 5th and 6th graders as performers of the student generated scripts. There are also exciting new developments with the Agenda for Children Theater Education residency. For our fourth year of this residency, we will be focusing on working with after-school sites as not only teachers, but as consultants that will help site administrators integrate theater into their regular curriculum. Finally, we've been invited back for a second year of bringing our Page to Stage, Playwriting in the Classroom, back to interested classrooms in the Cambridge Public Schools. This program is a great way to teach students writing skills through playwriting and may also be used as a resource for classrooms who are submitting to the CPS district wide playwriting contest, Write Now! URT is always happy to continue and build strong relationships with our past collaborators. We are equally excited to expand our educational programming to new partners. We are currently planning new programs with two organizations: Springstep in Medford and the Currier Museum in New Hampshire. We anticipate bringing URT theater to the after-school programming at Springstep beginning in April. Our Art InterACTions program is the model for the new programming we are developing for the Currier Museum. You will find URT at the Currier three times this season offering family tours, docent training, and teacher professional development. We had a very successful session with our new partner ASAP4Kids through the BB&N School in Cambridge and look forward to returning for next fall's session. Between our ongoing relationships and our new associations, it won't be hard to spot a URT educational staff member in a classroom, an after-school site or in one of our museum appearances. Stay tuned for updates about the success of all our programs and our plans for our exciting summer program including the second Summer Intensive, Theater of War, Theater of Peace. Keep an eye out for us on these dates:
