URT in the Revels Holiday Show

This shortest day...
As promise wakens in the sleeping land,
Let's carol, feast, give thanks,
And dearly love our friends,
And hope for peace.

URT is delighted to be part of the 37-year old Revels' Winter Solstice celebration in 2004.

The Revels' tradition brings people of all ages together to drive away the darkness through song, dance, and mummers' plays. This year the theme is the French Canadian frontier - imagine 18th century, snow, fabulous fiddle music, and myths about fur trappers risking their souls to ride the devil's flying canoe home in time for the New Year.

URT's resident designer, David Fichter, and puppet master, Will Cabell, have joined forces to help create the magic. Artistic Director Debra Wise is performing as story teller.

Performances run December 10-28, at the Sanders Theater in Cambridge. For tickets or information, go to www.revels.org. If you are interested in a discounted offer for some of the early performances, look at the ArtsBoston website: www.artsboston.org.
